Dean Clough is a magnificent Grade II listed Victorian mill complex destination with restaurants, bars, arts and theatre venues set within a unique historical site. Dean Clough is also home to over 150 businesses, employing 4,000 people, a Travelodge hotel and a gym. Free parking is available in the evenings, at weekends and on bank holidays.

Dean Clough Bars
Dean Clough provides a historic and unique backdrop with many bars and cafes having external seating areas to enjoy. There’s a hotel on-site and there is ample parking available that is free in the evenings, at weekends and on bank holidays. Additionally, Halifax town centre is only a 500-metre walk away and there is a taxi service, Crossley’s Cars (01422 202020) located at Dean Clough K Mill Courtyard and they also run an airport shuttle service.

Next Level is the free-to-play retro arcade gaming bar and restaurant at Dean Clough serving cocktails and American-style food. Next Level also has a great outdoor heated pergola area.
Stod Fold Bar & Function Room
Stod Fold at Dean Clough D Mill serves their own brewed craft beer, lagers, bespoke cocktails and food. Stod Fold also hosts comedy nights and Sunday afternoon music sessions. Stod Fold also has a private function room area. The Stod Fold kitchen is open for food Tuesday to Saturday from noon to 8pm and Sunday 12pm to 3pm. Stod Fold is closed on Mondays.

Dean Clough Halifax Lego Model
There is a huge 35 feet long (10.7metres) 1 million Lego piece model of Dean Clough located in the Lego Brick Gallery in D Mill. Also situated around Lego Brick Gallery are artifacts and photographs that were taken during the Crossley Carpets production era, plus photographs taken at the start of the renovation of Dean Clough in the 1980s.
Dean Clough’s History
Dean Clough Mills’ building timeline: Dean Clough A Mill was built first in 1841, followed by the six-storey B Mill in 1844. The first weaving shed, Old Shed, was built in 1849, then C Mill in 1850, New Shed in 1853, E Mill in 1857, F Mill in 1858, G Mill in 1867, and H Mill in 1869. Many other smaller buildings were also built on the Dean Clough site.

The Viaduct Theatre
The Viaduct Theatre has a 300-seat auditorium and is a unique subterranean space under Dean Clough Mills. The entrance to The Viaduct Theatre is next to the True North restaurant.
The resident theatre company is Northern Broadsides, founded by Barry Rutter in 1992 with a mixed touring programme of Shakespearean productions, adapted classic plays and new plays in a northern voice.

Head for D Mill where The Dean Clough Art Galleries are open from 10am to 5pm every day (except Christmas and New Year). Note that the Crossley Gallery is occasionally closed for private events. If you are traveling specifically to visit an exhibition in the Crossley Gallery at Dean Clough it is best to contact Dean Clough reception first.
The Permanent Collection at Dean Clough
The Dean Clough permanent art collection is displayed across the half-mile-long site and contains more than a thousand pieces including, David Hockney, Joe Tilson, Tony Earnshaw, Derek Hyatt, Alexander Nozhkin and Judith Shackleton providing examples of British northern art over the last fifty years.
The Studio Programme at Dean Clough
Dean Clough’s bursary studio scheme dates back to the 1980s. Doug Binde is among the many resident artists that includes nationally renowned illustrators, sculptors, and photographers. There are 25 artists who are based in studios at Dean Clough that run workshops, life drawing classes and they act as mentors to young people. The studio artists frequently exhibit in the galleries and typically hold two open days per year.
The Arts Charity at Dean Clough (ACDC) has a studio and teaching facility in Fletcher’s Mill, Dean Clough.
The IOU at Victoria Mill has specialist professional artists to deliver their workshop programme with masterclasses and short courses to develop existing skills and teach new ones.

The Arches at Dean Clough is a unique Victorian venue for a stylish individual wedding or your exclusive event.
The Arches venue has beautiful vaulted red brick ceilings (hence the name), iconic northern lights and Yorkshire stone floors to provide the interior backdrop for your styling and artistic mood-setting; and also the magnificent awe-inspiring exterior architecture sets the scene for truely memorable wedding photographs.
The Arches at Dean Clough offers a versatile and flexible capacity from 300 people maximum to a minimum of 60 Guests. The Arches have their own exceptional executive chef & team.
